{"id":5738,"date":"2016-02-10T03:08:24","date_gmt":"2016-02-10T03:08:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yogaandhealing.com.au\/?p=5738"},"modified":"2018-12-20T17:49:00","modified_gmt":"2018-12-20T06:49:00","slug":"double-new-beginning-gifting-yourself-a-full-stop-moment-each-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yogaandhealing.com.au\/double-new-beginning-gifting-yourself-a-full-stop-moment-each-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Double New Beginning &#8211; Gifting yourself a full stop moment each day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">February\u00a0is a time\u00a0of the year to pause and take stock of how we have chosen to commence the beginning of the year\u00a0which\u00a0will have\u00a0a direct impact on how\u00a0the\u00a0rest of the year unfolds. \u00a0For most, the\u00a0summer holidays are over, the\u00a0kids have returned to school and we are back into our usual work schedules and routines.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For many people, there can be a feeling of not having &#8220;enough time&#8221;, particularly when our lives quickly become busy with work, family and social commitments and the year can already feel like it\u00a0begins to run away. So how do we not fall into the old habits of getting caught up into feeling rushed, busy or anxious and rather remain steady and present with each day?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our suggestion at Yoga &amp; Healing is to offer yourself a program throughout February where you gift yourself a full stop moment every day \u00a0&#8211; around 10 minutes &#8211; that is set aside just for you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>By committing to this time\u00a0you are\u00a0offering\u00a0yourself the space between you and what it is that you need to attend to<\/strong>.\u00a0With this offering you are valuing yourself saying \u201cI am worth this moment\u201d.\u00a0One suggestion that we would like to offer this month is practicing and exploring the Gentle Breath Meditation\u2122 daily.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unimedliving.com\/meditation\/gentle-breath-meditation\/what-is-gentle-breath-meditation.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.unimedliving.com\/meditation\/gentle-breath-meditation\/what-is-gentle-breath-meditation.html\">The Gentle Breath Meditation<\/a>\u2122 is a simple meditation technique.\u00a0It provides the space for the body and the being to completely rest and rebalance. <strong>When we incorporate a stop\u00a0moment into\u00a0our day, we have the opportunity to\u00a0feel a different way of being that is gentle and\u00a0connected\u00a0which feels lovely and can be vastly different from the usual busyness that may be your normal.<\/strong>\u00a0Once you have this reference point in your body you can then take this connection into the rest of your day as well as into your sleep,\u00a0all of which support a deepening of your daily sense of health and wellbeing. The meditation practise can be done sitting in a chair or lying down.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you are someone who finds it difficult to find 10 minutes in your day here\u00a0are some suggestions;<\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Set\u00a0your alarm a little\u00a0earlier<\/li>\n<li>Put yourself to bed a little earlier<\/li>\n<li>During your lunch break (even if it means going to the bathroom or closing the office door for those 10 minutes so you will not be disturbed!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Even the busiest of busiest person can &#8220;find&#8221;\u00a010 minutes in a day to dedicate to themselves if they so choose. In the end, it really comes down to how much we value ourselves and our depth of realization and acceptance of the fact that our quality of being in everything we do does matter as it affects each and everyone of us.<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the beginning there may be some restlessness and agitation all of which can\u00a0contribute to finding excuses to not gift yourself with this full stop moment. This disharmony though, is not the result of the practice but has\u00a0been there in your body\u00a0all along\u00a0and the meditation\u00a0is offering you this\u00a0awareness.\u00a0This is supportive and important to remember and not a reason to give up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This month we encourage you to explore\u00a0developing a deeper commitment to yourself through the daily program.
